a77 SLT viewfinder shows only green stripes. What might be causing this issue?

My a77 lately sometimes shows only green stripes in the viewfinder. If I change the lens, it may continue showing the green stripes or it may work properly. I've tried changing batteries and SD cards and that doesn't help. On one occasion with a fully charged battery, the camera would not turn on. This was after I had connected the camera to my pc, Windows 10 OS, to download photos using a USB cable. The USB cable is relatively new and shows no wear or damage. The next day, I turned the camera on and it works properly. My camera has not been dropped or used in the rain. Any ideas on how to get it back to working correctly?
