Hi @pabaxte34,

I do not own a MAC but have seen several posts saying that you need DriverLoader_1013 in case you're running macOS 10.13

I recently bought a Sony A7IIIR. I decided to update the firmware. The instructions suggested I use the USB cable supplied with the camera to connect to the computer. The camera can with an HDMI cable. It tried it and could not connect with my MAC. Do I need a USB cable or should the HDMI cable work?

Hi there,

Welcome to the Sony Community.

I've checked and it does recommend using the USB cable supplied with the camera as update functionality is not guaranteed with any other USB cable.

I would recommend getting in touch with the retailer who should be able to advise you on this.

Best wishes,

Sean Mc
