A6500 IBIS With Adapted Lenses

I never seem to be able to find the definitive answer to this question(s) so trying here.

What are the conditions for IBIS to work with adapted lenses? I have a few vintage lenses I would like to try but as yet have not purchased any adapters. Auto focus is not an issue for me as I am use to manual focussing. I have 2 vintage lenses that hope might work. A fixed 135mm FD mount, & a rather heavy fixed 300mm C/Y mount.

1. Will IBIS still work with a dumb adapter?

2. IF NO, regardless of price for now, will any of the more pricey adapters do the trick?
