Okay,
So both myself and Kee-Lo have never seen any evidence of a Moderator for this forum.

I have already expressed my amusement at the fact that we provide customer support in this forum, while Sony spend their time denying all knowledge of everything and anything.
Please add your comments to help solve the mystery of Brains...

nope, I wish I could moderate..... but Sony probably would kick me out.

I've never seen any moderators except the Clié guy.

Just done a search for author "Brains", any post, any forum, any thread.
Search returned 5 results, the last being on 19th September 2002.

So there you have it, looks like the moderator has disappered in suspicious circumstances. Does anybody think we should tell somebody?
Probably futile, since Sony would only deny all knowledge of everything anyway.

I guess the moderators days were numbered when you guys all started doing the job for free

The moderator's job is just to keep an eye on the threads, and stop people posting about DVD copying. They don't necessarily reply to problems.

Okay point taken,

Let me take this opportunity to tell you about the DVD's I copied the other night then. They're really good quality, and by the time I print the covers they will look as good as new. All I need now is a recorder that will encode a Dolby digital 5.1 signal onto the recording. Then I could probably flog them for about six quid each!

As for this pirate software, I really need to clean up the floor of dodgy discs. Otherwise I'm going to end up breaking my neck!
P2P software... Don't get me started there.

I guess if there was a moderator, they should have jumped out and posted every time someone has asked for copies of recovery disks on this Forum.

I've seen a Sony guy step in once and add his penny's worth after one of the regulars slated a specific member of Sony support. Was quite amusing

The forum seems to run pretty well without Sony intervention - the people on here are sensible in the main and don't misuse the facility. I suppose that could change in the future but if it's working OK (and it seems to) then an overly active moderator may be a nuisance.

It could change, but I hope not. Hopefuly people requesting pirated information will learn it's not the place to do it. It's the same with a lot of forums like an old AMD one I was on.

I think it would be nice to have some 'official' presence on the forum. There are surely plenty of Sony-specific questions that could be answered rather than the rest of us guessing or theorising.

I'd certainly agree that too much intervention, in a 'big brother' kind of way (that's 1984, not Channel 4), would be counter-productive.
