Is it possible to change an asian model tv into a european version.

Hi,

A few years back i bought a tv in qatar, a KDL-55W804A, with the sofware version PKA4.600AA. I have now moved to denmark and would like to download danish apps but to do so i have to have the european verison PKA4.600EUA. My tv isnt one of the supported tvs for a software update so is there a way to change the software version?

Any help would be apreciated.

Hi there

It is not wise to update the firmware on a TV that its not designed for. My advice is to purchase the TV in the location you are based in. If the firmware version is higher than the one currently installed - it might install, however there is a risk that it might 'brick' the TV too or have other un-intended consequences.
