Hi sallymortond , the apps should be on the Home screen, and you can get it if you press the Guide button on the remote.

Buy a Roku Express 4K or a Firestick 4K and plug it in.

Or wait an indefinite amount of time for Sony to resolve its issues with the app providers, for its 2021 sets.

I am one of many that does not have any catch up TV, BBC i Player etc. These are fundamental requirements. The previous 2020 model had these facilities and I was mislead that the 2021 model XR55A80JU I purchased did not have these facilities.

Do not purchase Sony equipment if they cannot provide these basic facilities

Hi Tubb04,

I've contact the Sony support team, and they confirmed that the TV supports these catchup services and that these services will be available during this year 2021. They suggest that it's possible to enjoy these services by using the chrome cast option as in the link here.

That page says I need a computer. I’ve got a computer, but it’s in my study; and even though it’s a laptop, I can’t be doing with carrying it in and out of all the places where my TVs are.

So I can’t see how this is a solution to anything?

Oh, and Sony confirmed in 2015 that you would be able to record from within YouView before the year was out. Now it’s 2021, and we’re still waiting for that.

But put it on what, and use what app?

You do have a 2021 Sony Android TV, right?

How do you get BBC iPlayer?
