Hi all

I have a question regarding the ARC function on this TV. If I connect a soundbar to the ARC HDMI socket will the sound from any other connected device i.e. blu-ray player travel down the ARC and transmit 5.1/DTS sound?

I am aiming to connect my Virgin Media box to the in on my soundbar and then connect a hdmi from the out on the soundbar to the ARC socket on the TV. The blu-ray will be connected directly to the TV via HDMI.

For information the soundbar does support ARC.

I need to find out if this would work before purchasing TV and soundbar.

Hi @mobilyuk and welcome to the community,

Yes this should work, but supported formats are limited due to HDMI standard (which means that advanced formats, like Dolby TrueHD/Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio, will not pass through).

If possible, I would recommend connecting the blu-ray player directly to the soundbar.
