Connect BDV-E4100 with laptop without HDMI

Hi! I am the proud owner of the BDV-E4100 home cinema and i was wondering how i can connect my laptop to the BDV-E4100. It's quite an old laptop, there's no HDMI port.

My laptop is now connected to my SmartTV via VGA cable for the picture, and through the headphones plug for the sound.

Is there a way to connect my laptop to the home cinema so that i can have the 5.1 surround sound experience?

Hi there

What you need to do is connect a 3.5mm to RCA cable from the headphone/audio out socket on your laptop to the RCA audio inputs on the BDV-E4100. However you will not get 5.1 surround sound only 2.0 sound. You 'might' be able to simulate surround sound by using a sound mode.

Also you will need to set the input to 'audio' on the BDV-E4100 using this set. See page 24 of the manual:
