Ageing Sony Surround.

Hi,

My ageing(2002)Sony HCD-S880 has performed effortlessly and been nothing short of brilliant since new until yesterday when it refused to power up.

Moving to manual operation,on pressing the power button the red power light comes on but flashes on and off for a short while and then fades out.

Therefore not able to use even manually.

I realise that after 15years parts are probably a bit scarce but i also understand its possible this maybe component breakdown and hopefully apparent to someone who knows what to check and where to look.

I would like to ask if anyone in the forum has experienced anything like this and can come up with a solution.
