      <title>Ageing Sony Surround.</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My ageing(2002)Sony HCD-S880 has performed effortlessly and been nothing short of brilliant since new until yesterday when it refused to power up.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Moving to manual operation,on pressing the power button the red power light comes on but flashes on and off for a short while and then fades out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Therefore not able to use even manually.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I realise that after 15years parts are probably a bit scarce but i also understand its possible this maybe component breakdown and hopefully apparent to someone who knows what to check and where to look.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like to ask if anyone in the forum has experienced anything like this and can come up with a solution.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thankyou for reading his.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;kind rgds.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Rob.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
