x700 stops playing 4k discs

My x700 stops playing 4k discs while watching the Equaliser it stopped playing at 1 hour 35 mins, also playing Captain Marvel it stoped playing after 2 hours 10 mins in both cases could not fast forward or get them to move on noted the time by the display button, this problem has happened in the past on other films but 2 in 2 days??

Lucky to have my old x800 no problem with this player at least I know the discs are ok

Any one else had this problem and is there a way of solving it

Hi Karingall

There are a few things you can try:

1- Update the player: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/home-video-blu-ray-disc-players-recorders/ubp-x700/downloads/00015977

2-Try resetting the player:

On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
Select Setup.
Select Resetting.
Select Reset to Factory Default Settings.
Select All Settings.

If this doesn't fix it, let us know more about the issue, like does the player freeze during playback or does it crash? Do you notice any issues while playing different type of discs or content from any of the installed apps?

Thanks for the info

Have done a factory reset we now seem to be ok

The player did freeze

Will leave this open for a while just to make sure all is ok

I have a new problem see Lost home screen on x700
