Hi, I have connected my Sony HT-MT300 to my Sony tv, changed the sound setting to audio system and the audio output to variable but the volume adjustment of the tv does not change the volume of the sound bar, I have to adjust it with its own remote. Is this correct?

Regardless of the TV you cannot adjust the volume via the TV remote on a soundbar that is connected via optical like the m300
