KD65X89K - Android 12 Update Bugs

Hi all

So my KD65X89K has updated to androind 12 and im having major issues.

When i turn my tv on, the on screen TV toggle in the menus will not take me to the preset FREESAT channels on the inbuilt tuner, the tv button on the remote wont either, and the channel settings screen where i can set the tv toggle to direct to freesat has vanished.

The one and only way ive found to make the options reappear and the tv buttons work and get my tv channels back is to turn the tv off at the wall every time im finished with the tv, just putting it into standby mode doesnt fix the issue neither does a soft  reset.

This has massively cheesed me off, anyone know of a workaround or fix?, other than buying a freesat box and connecting it to HDMI.

Every time with sony, everytime they do an update they break something, so sick of it now, i seem to spend more times fixing problems than i do watching tv and god only knows how long itll be b4 a fix is released, honestly if i could flash it back to Android 11 i would.

I'm also experiencing issues on my X90S (European X90K Variant)

For some reason, features become unavailable - It effects "Picture off" "Sleep Timer" "Picture Settings" among many others.

So, you're not the only one. Don't bother with a Factory Reset, I did it and am still experiencing the same issues.

Thanks for updating  i kind of thought a factory reset wouldnt help so i havent done that.  im also having issue with some apps getting disabled by  the system.  all in, its a very annoying update, theyve had plenty of time to perfect the update to 12, it annoys me more that the bootloader unlock toggle is missing from developer options otherwise id just downgrade but Sony have made sure we cant do that.

The worst thing is knowing how long it will take for them to push an update that will fix these issues.

The last update messed up the TV Button that took you into YouView and that took months for a fix to arrive.

Atleast that could be solved by a Factory Reset. Seems we're probably stuck with these bugs for atleast 3 months.

uggghhhh the Youview incident yer that was a nightmare i mean, who the hell uses PooView these days 😞, however i resolved that one same day, simply messing about uninstalling stuff i took youview of because i remember that update was a pain, i ended up with ITVX installed twice, one of them gave an error, and the other one opened youview instead of what it should do lmao.

Think its time Sony started hiring people ver the age of 6 to do their updates because they consistently mess peoples tv up every time they get it wrong and its not fair.

I have purchased a Freesat box to connect to hdmi 1 as a backup option as itll probably be a while before they release an update.

After update KD55X85K to 6.8022 starts macro-blocking when working with CAM module. 

When set to non-coded channel and restart from settings, TV work perfectly until i switch to coded channel and macro-blocking starts, even i back to non-coded channel. Macro-blocking starts when on non-coded channel, go to Help -> Signal Diagnostic too.

Signal quality is 100% and strength is 96-97%.

Trying with two different CAMs, that working perfect on other TV.

After factory reset there are no effect - macro-blocking still exists.

Everything work perfect until 6.8022 update.
