KD65XD9305 - TV won't turn on

Hi,

Had my KD65XD9305 since June, and it's been brilliant.

Tonight I tried turning it on with the remote and it won't respond. Tried with the buttons on the TV and it won't respond. Checking the power block with a multi meter shows its got power coming out of it. Checked all the cables, swapped power sockets and nothing is working.

What can I do? I feel so disappointed.

Hi @Ashleyjohnst. Your TV has a 5 year warranty from Sony but I would contact Curry’s first. http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/141519

Got in contact think they are sorting it out very slow on the reply’s looks like I’m going to be without a tv over the weekend 🙄 that’s a week now if this is second time happening to me in a year surely there’s something wrong with that model and should be changed

Hi @Ashleyjohnst. I returned mine for a full refund after 9 months and bought a XE93. See here for 20 pages on the same subject: https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/xd9305-loss-of-all-power/td-p/2266186

Did Sony refund you or did you have to go back to shop?

Hi @Ashleyjohnst. Local shop. I struck lucky as they are also a registered Sony Service Centre so they picked up the XD93 almost immediately and left me a large loan TV. While they had it I called them and told them I didn’t want it back because it’s a well known fault with this model. They offered a XE93 refunding in full the XD93 and I paid the difference. They included a free X800 to sweeten the deal.

Only bought a Sony Bravia TV KD-49XG8096 In June 2020 had nothing but problems since with it not switching on and sometimes not switching off it seems like an ongoing problem with Somy TV,s for a long time they should not be sold until the company sort it out it’s even states in their handbook troubleshooting to pull out the plug from wall socket Because of my age and health problems find difficult I’ve telephoned support and was told it’s a software problem and will be sorted in a few days but reading Community letters it’s being happening for a long time I’ve written to head office asking for a refund and awaiting their reply.

My first 55 inch Sony TV, model number 55X8509C would not turn on as soon as I got it home.

This was replaced by Currys the supplier.

Now this one won't turn on. It has lasted Four years. I have replaced the power board but it still doesn't still power up.

Any suggestions as to the cause and if a repair is viable, the TV was £1200 when purchased.
