Serial number check

Hi there is it possible to check if the tv is been refurbished or not with the serial number. I bought two tv's of someone and they claimed both tv's are brand new but one of them tv look old and wasn't packaged like other one

I would really appreciate it if someone could help

Welcome to the Sony Community! As much as we would like to help you with your request, but there is no way that Sony will either share or disclose that type of information with the public. The reason is that such information which relates to the history of repairs or exchanges falls legally under information proprietary to the commercial operations by Sony and can not be disclosed to anyone in the public domain. Nevertheless you could still try to contact your local Sony Service Center and request to verify if the unit is still under warranty by providing the S/N.
