Sony AG8 red blinking light every other day

Hi all,

 

Only got my KD-55AG8 in June and for the last month every other time I turn it on I get the red flashing light (6 times) and the TV doesn’t turn on. 
After turning it off and on again the TV will then start up with the Android logo which then takes longer to start up. 

Other then that the TV works fine but it’s pretty annoying as it happens every other day. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hi Stayman,

 

Can you please try if the following improves the situation?

  • Perform an AC reset of the TV set
  • Disable the IP Control by doing following steps:
    • Go to ‘Settings/Network’
    • Then go to 'Setup home network’
    • Select 'IP Control’ and disable

This helped for a few weeks but the issue has now returned again. 😞

Hi,

 

Same issue for me. I also bought this tv in June.

 

I also made some settings with the support but the issue is still there. The support told me that it is a software issue which is under investigation. I'm not very convinced about that.

Some start up issues could be related to the connected devices. Try removing them one by one to check if the issue is caused by any of them.

 

Did you try a factory reset?

Thanks for the suggestions. 

Yes it is update and I did do a factory reset. 

I will try going through the connected devices to see if it’s any of them but might take a while as it’s intermittent. 

I also spoke to support on the phone who advised it was a known Software issue about 2 months ago and sadly no contact from them since.

There are other things that happen during standby, try turning them Off like with IP Control and see how things go.

 

  • Update TV Guide in standby (under Digital Set-up - Guide Set-up)
  • Automatic Service update (under Digital Set-up - Technical Set-up)
