Xperia C4 "ghost" touch and repair issue

Hi, I had purchased SONY Xperia C4 from BestBuy during my visit to US on Jan,2016. The phone worked quite well for about three months and then started giving multiple touch issues. I tried all sort of solution such as factory reset, software repair etc.. but the problem seems to persist adamantly. Upon searching on the net i found that many model have such "Hardware" issues wherein SONY offers repairs. 

I contacted my local SONY service center in INDIA , but they denied repair service even though it is under warranty saying that International warranty is not covered. 

Now Im stuck with a defective but under warranty Xperia C4. I cant use the phone as multiple touch causes un-intended call and causes so much nusance.

Kindly can some one help me with the phone being repaired locally or is there any way SONY helps customer with internationally purchased products....

Can i request SONY US to jst send the replacement part to my local SONY service center? Or can SONY pay for one side courier charges....

Really feeling stuck with a brand new SONY phone....:smileyworried:

It doesn't work like that, the warranty will only work here in the US, so the phone has to be repaired here.

Ya i understood the limited warranty.. Sending the phone to states is a very costly solution.

anyway thanks Uliwooly... 

i may have to get it repaired in a unbranded local shop and will have to lose the warranty and also bear the charges. thanks to SONY for making such great policies and service.

I'm just here to help out, but this is NOT just Sony, did you read the other link I've posted, apple has the same policy and other brands.

I had the SAME EXACT situation. Bought the phone in another country in Jan 2016. Arrived in India. The touchscreen issues started around August. Tried everything, factory reset, software update, safemode, rebooting a thousand times, and I cannot get it repaired here in India even though it has a two year warranty. Also the technician said it could be due to water or moisture damage as the indicator on the side of the screen had turned red. I couldn't believe this. The ghost screen problem disappears sometimes when there's wifi, and I'm utterly bewildered by everything that's happening. Did your problem get solved after replacing the touchscreen at the local shop you mentioned? Cuz I'm planning to do just the same now. I've lost patience.

Sorry to hear that you too are facing the same issue. 

I had sent the phone to US by a friend. He got it replaced and gave it back to me. replacement was done within a week but it took me nearly four month to complete the entire process. After about 6 months even that failed. Both (touch and screen went completely bad). In the mean while my one year warranty also expired. I couldnot resend the phone back to US as it had proved to be a very costly affair.

All i could do was replace the screen (complete frame) i.e LCD + Touch with frame from a online chinese vendor (Aliexpress). It is working fine now.

I had a trust on SONY products and always felt a sense of security in that in such events SONY should take responsibility & call back the defective C4 model and give a replacement.

But i was disappointed.

I have a solution for this.

Just use glove mode from display option and let me know it is working oe not

Nothing works, it's a hardware issue and Sony has done nothing to fix it..you search the internet,you will get nothing for this problem.I had to buy new phone thanks to Sony

Hi all (those who are facing issues with touch of Xperia C4)

Atlast i got a new phone (Moto G5S Plus) after way long of bearing up with SONY.

Got a exchange offer of 3k inr.

Miss the camera quality BUT a working phone is better than a defective one
