Xperia C5 Ultra suddenly died. Tried Software Repair.

Hi, everybody. Need your help.

Yesterday, midday (when I expected the phone to ahve 70%+ charge), I suddenly noticed my Xperia C5 was off and would not turn on. (By the way, I recently installed Android 6.0 about a week ago).

I assumed something had caused the battery to drain completely, so I went home and plugged it in. 

Red light activates, goes out, vibrates, comes back on, and stays on. After 20-30 minutes, still no activity (not even the charging percentage), so I research on this forum, and others, how to recover the device.

Two-button power-down did not work, so I downloaded the Xperia Companion and followed the instructions for Software Repair.

The PC / Companion doesn't recognize the phone at first, but following the software repair instructions, holding the volume button down before plugging the the USB into the computer, the green light (on the phone) came on, and the software repair process commenced (automatically).

First attempt at software repair failed, so I tried with a different USB cable. Second time was a success, and Xperia Companion was able to successfully reload software version 29.2.A.0.122-R3B.

However, I still cannot turn on the device. I have now left it charging for the past 2-3 hours, and it's still in the same state as before the software repair.


I noticed one odd quirk: If I press and hold the power and volume-up button, the red light goes of, there is a medium vibration, then three strong vibrations, before the red light goes on again. Then nothing else happens.

Any advice on how to rescue this C5?

I'm having the exact same problem, and the timing is the same as described above ( my warranty is about two weeks past the year) a really weird coincidence, huh? Technician told me the exact same thing, and they want to charge me the exact same amount for repair...maybe our cellphones where separate at born (or made in the exact same manufacturer)... Who knows? Really weird stuff

same her after a year and a week of purchse suddenly died. whats wrong??

Guys, just turn it off.. Connect it to the charger and try to let it charge. In page 1 of this thread Noralmd posted the solution. Let it charge and perform a software repair. My C5 was playing dead too, after the simple process of charge then repair the phone is absolutely fine.

I had the same issue 2 days ago, I tried everything you did before I tried to contact the seller with no success. I went to the seller yesterday and my waranty expired 2 months ago, he told me that he needed to change a piece and it will cost me 5,000 pesos (mx), around $250 dollars. 

I don't know if it was a mistake but one of the guys there said: "This happens when the screen gets disconnected inside, maybe you had it on your rear pocket or it fell to the floor really hard..."

None of that really happened but anyway... 

As my waranty expired all I did was looking for a video on YouTube to be sure of how to open it, you need to warm the cellphone and carefully open it... What I found inside was tje flexor or the screen barely connected, all I did was connected it as it shold be and it worked!. 

Yes, I am writing this on my Xperia C5 Ultra.

If you do not want to do this because you don't have the proper tools, take it to a guy who knows about this... It will take around 5 to 10 minutes.

And finally, i have the same issue. My phone suddenly died and i've tried a lot of things but didn't works. I bought it on January 2016. I'll go to the Sony customer service tomorrow 😭

Coincidentally my device also after 1 year and 2 months presented the same fault. Sony wash their hands telling me to take it to a service center where I paid a lot of money for repairs.

 

Could it be that I'm going to want to buy a phone from this brand again?

I'm experiencing this same problem with my xperia c5 ultra e5506, the phone was running lollipop at first and everything worked fine until after the marshmellow update. Tried to flash software backed to lollipop using flashtool inorder to solve the problems and now the phone won't turn on. It has a blank screen and a constant red light when plugged in to charge with wall charger and usb. When phone is connected to pc, it detects with a sound and dissconnects after a few seconds. Tried almost every solution i could find inorder to power it on but nothing seems to work. Can anyone please help, i would appreciate any help or assistance given!

Xperia C5 Ultra Dual yang saya miliki persis satu tahun pembelian sudah tidak bisa di gunakan (suddenly died) service center resmi sony Xperia sudah tidak ada di kota kami setahun yang lalu.

Apakah Xperia C5 Ultra Dual hanya untuk satu tahun penggunaannya.

Adakah yang bisa menolong supaya Xperia C5 Ultra Dual bisa digunakan lagi.

Xperia C5 Ultra Dual that I have exactly one year of purchase can not be used (suddenly died) service center official sony Xperia was not in our city a year ago.

Is the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual only for one year of use.

Can anyone help the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual be used again.
