How can I adjust the aperture on my DSC RX 100?

I have tried to adjust the aperture setting using the Aperture mode, but haven't succeeded yet.

Looks like you set the Shooting Mode to "A" and select the required aperture using the Control Wheel.

the function of the control ring (the one around the lens) can be customized using the custom menu of the camera. Probably you have not assigned aperture to it.

Therefore you can use the control dial on the back of the camera for changing the aperture.
