How to play recordings on a HD TV ?

Tried to play movies from a DSC-HX9V on a HD TV. Useless info in the guide.

Are you connecting with a HDMI cable?  This is not supplied so you will need to buy a Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable like this one: -

The HDMI socket is on the right edge of the camera at the top - No 17 here: -
