Is it possible to charge a DSC-N1 camera through the USB cord?

I have misplaced my charger and was wondering whether it is possible to charge a DSC-N1 camera through the USB cord? If so, how can I go about doing this and is there anything I need to download?

Hi Pigeon333, welcome to the Sony Forums

I can see why you would think this, as most phones are charged this way, but almost all digital cameras use a discrete circuit for power supply and it's usually essential that the camera is either mains or battery powered before it will make a USB connection with your PC.

The AC adaptors are still available to buy, as are battery chargers, both from Sony retailers and 3rd party suppliers. If you have any problems finding one, let me know.
