Hi,
I have files on my computer, backed up from Sony Xperia S, I do not have this phone anymore, but I need to get important contacts out of this .dbk file. How can I do this?

Hi,
I can't seem to get the restoreData.jar file to work. I double click on it and nothing hapens. I've re-installed java, still no joy.
The fullbackupdata file is present on the desktop along with the restoredata.jar file. I've tried them in their own directory too, but still no joy.
When I return to Java and click on the "update now" button it tells me I have the most recent version.
I run Windows7 64bit.
Any advice? please please please.
Cheers guys.
Merry Christmas!

**bleep** oh all. the 1st answer workd 4 me. i thank u!
that said, lets address the real issue here. all this information people seem so desperate to retrieve should have been placed in the drive it would always be available and safe from hackers and such. this drive served me well, so now i will only use it. if any of you wish to use this drive your more then welcome. the location of this drive is just above your shoulders. :smileysmileywink:
take heed, a mind is a terrible thing to waste
have a good won,,,
ps: pen and papaer is a close 2nd

For those who couldn't get the jar file working (just like myself) when you double click but nothing happens, I decided to create an alternative solution:
Download the two files from the following folder:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fr1otevix7zvbwq/AAB9xDKbD2kpeWTdY_nBf4ufa?dl=0
Copy and paste them in the same folder as the "fullbackupdata" file. Then simply run the "Decompress.bat" and the "backup.tar" file will be created. You can now go ahead and open it up with WinRAR or WinZIP or any other decompression utility.
Best regards,
Kosta

I tried following the instructions step by step. After extracting the 'restore.tar' file, tried to locate the vcf file 'full_backup_vcard.vcf' in path \restore.tar\apps\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport\
However I am getting the file named '_manifest; and not the vcf file. Can you please help here.
