Hi,
I have a Xperia SP and copied some MP3 files and playlist (m3u and m3u8) files on the SD card. The Walkman app shows all the playlists. I then deleted some of the playlist files from the SD card and modified some others. However the Walkman app playlist section does not recognize this change and all the deleted playlists are still there. Furthermore the modified playlist files are there twice. Manual deletion of those playlists as described is not possible. Only those playlists that have been created by using the app itself seem to be deletable.
How is it possible to update the playlist section of the walkman app?
Sony Xperia SP, Android 4.1.2, Build 12.0.A.1.257

Now I managed to delete those MP3 playlists I copied to the SD card. There is a link in the detailed view of a playlist. I don't know whether this link was also available before I updated the phone to 12.0.A.2.245 or was added with the update.

try this
settings > apps > all > walkman > clear everything > restart your phone

Hi uliwooly,
thanks for your hint. I tried this, but it did not help. I have still all the playlists in the Walkman app overview, that are actually not stored on the SD card.

that's odd, and the playlist were created on your computer then transfered to your phone or were they created with media go?
The playlists where on HDD of my computer, then I transfered the files (MP3 and M3U playlist files) via MSC to the SD card of the Sony Xperia SP. For transfer I used Windows 7 robocopy command, but thats just a special copy command that is able to mirror content. All the playlists have been recognized by Walkman app. Later I deleted many of the playlist files on computers HDD and synchronized the files again via MSC using robocopy. All the playlist files that I deleted on my computers HDD have been deleted on SD card as well. I checked this by listing the SD card content using Windows Explorer and also Explorer-like apps on the phone.
try media go
Meanwhile I tried Media Go. I deleted the whole directory which I created on the SD card containing the MP3 files and M3U playlist files.
I synchronized all MP3 files again. This time I connected the phone using the MTP protocol and not MSC. I also sync'ed the playlists using MediaGo section. The playlists show up in Walkman app, but all the old ones are still there. Now I have even more playlists, also the old ones, some having the same name.
Hi All - not sure if anyone is still interested however I finally found a solution to playlists that I've created (using Sony Mac Bridge) but then cannot delete.
I tried searching both the internal and SD storage for .m3u files using File Commander to no avail. So I downloaded ES File Explorer from the Google Play Store and used that instead. Hey presto, it found all the old playlist files and allowed me to delete them. As such I no longer have any redundant playlists showing in my Walkman App.
Hope that helps
