long delay in making call
I've had my Experia S now for about 18months. It has worked faultlessly, recently it seems to be taking forever to make a call. I have a few numbers on speed dial and it can take upto a minute before I hear any dial tone. The sim card was new with the phone so not too old. Any ideas?

Try this
settings > apps > all > phone > clear data/cache
make sure to backup your call logs if you don't want to lose them

if that doesn't work then empty your messaging app (sms, mms, etc) or repair your phone with SUS
Bridge (for Mac)

Thanks for that. Emptying the cache unfortunately does not work. I have noticed that if the phone has been on for a while then it will connect to phoned numbers straight away. I think that the phone is checking for emails etc first every time it is switched on before making any calls, instead of just making calls. I have tried to do an update but the program does not offer an option for my phone an Experia S. They have every other model but no xperia s.

You need to run sony update service in compatibility mode with windows 7,because you are running on 8 or 8.1.
