Sound hound proved very useful recently in identifying some tracks on tape (I know yes they still exist!) so I got them get them digitally for use.

ES file exporer for getting to my NAS

File Manager HD for the tablet

MX Video player - plays just about everything

EDIT: and not forgetting the remote control - which is just brilliant

I'm a slingbox's happy owner... So I bought SlingPlayer Mobile (for phone) and installed it on my tablet: works just fine! As I have a Slingbox Pro (not HD) I couldn't use the SlingPlayer Mobile for tablets 😕

Otherwise, Ilike the Relay app (it a Zinio alike, but in french 😉

I'm quite partial to PressReader. It's an app for reading newspapers. I know I can read the online versions of papers, but I prefer reading the newspaper version as it's much more visual.

Downside is you have to subscribe at £18 a month. But you can trial it and if you already buy a newspaper regularly it's no dearer. And the electronic paper boy delivers it to your door for you.

I will try to avoid apps that have already been mentioned but my fave apps are...

• Asphalt 6 HD (Great racing game - works well on the tablet)
• Amazon Kindle (Has replaced my actual Kindle that I owned, syncs all my books from Amazon)
• Backbreaker THD (American Football game - Tegra edition, great fun)
• ESPN Goals (can see all the latest Premier League Football highlights)
• Glow Hockey 2 (Air hockey game - can play 2 people on the same tablet, good simple fun)
• GTA III (What can I say... it is Grand Theft Auto... nuff said!)
• Guns 'n' Glory (Brilliant Tower-like game based on Wild West)
• iKamasutra (hope there isn't any kids presents - xxx)
• HomerunBattle 3D - (Best Android Baseball game available)
• Where's My Water (fun puzzle game by Disney of all people!)

That's my lot.. for now...

@breedbenr: where did you get the screen on and wifi always toggle widgets??

they sound very useful for the same reason you obviously use them for - easy switching to keep stuff running when streaming over dlna

My tablet is mainly for business, favourite apps are Sugar Sync and LogMeIn Ignition, both keep me connected to all my files and machines back in the office.

1. Folder Organizer Lite for grouping my apps, games, media, utils etc
2. Beautiful Widgets for clock and weather
3. Dictionary.com widget for word of the day
4. Power Widget for instant access/toggle of Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Auto rotation, Screen brightness, Always on etc
5. Twicca widget for quick access to my Twitter mentions, DMs, Favourites etc
6. Thumb Keyboard. Easily the best, customisable tablet-optimised keyboard
7. ES File Explorer for browsing my tablet and NAS
8. MX Video Player for playing videos from the tablet and NAS
9. ConvertPad for converting everything: currency, sizes, etc
10. SNESDroid and WiimoteController for classic gaming Nintendo gaming with a Wii Remote
