This update seems to have fixed the video capture issue and left me with another. Now Google play store wil not update apps. I keep getting error code 506. Seems this is a common problem also. I have deleted cache and data from Google play and services. Restarted the phone ovov and over. Unmounted the memory card and all other steps suggested when searching for this issue. Any other ideas please sony?
Do Sony themselves read these message boards? I wonder if they are able to offer an explanation or better still, a solution
This seems to be fixed for me with the latest update that installed yesterday (34.4.A.2.19)
@StuartLthey do.
There a five or some number like that.
They do have other things to do.
They do go home after work.
They have a lot of threads to follow
After the latest Xperia system update all seems to be working.
Good job Sony.
I did a factory reset with Xperia Companion. Now my problem of apps taking very long to download is gone.
I'm also getting this issue after updating to 34.4.A.0.364
To test a theory espoused earlier in thread, moving the apps to internal memory then updating worked. I tested moving app to internal storage then back to Sd card then updating, this didn't work. Any idea what issue is and if it can be fixed?
Cmon Sony, sort this one out as we can't be moving apps (it's not a short process) all the time when a new update comes out.
Has your phone goes the latest Xperia system software?
Sony please fix this error asap thanks in advance
same issue on my xperia xa1
Almost a year after the last message in this thread, I've noticed that I am plagued with the issue of not being able to update SD card apps My phone is on 34.4.A.2.118 (which I believe to be the latest available update).
When updating SD card apps, it downloads 100% of the update which fails then downloads much more than 100% of the update before showing an error message.
My phone tried to update Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint yesterday while on dreadful hotel WiFi. I appear to have checked out of the hotel halfway through the download process and, even though I have Google Play set to download on WiFi only, when I lost my WiFi connection the download (and second attempt) continued on 4G wasting 255mb (imagine if I'd been roaming abroad)! All updates failed. So that such 4G downloads (and re-downloads) don't occur in the future, I've set the Datally app to prevent Google Play from downloading anything in the background via 4G.
Later, I moved the apps back to internal storage and they updated first time.
It's the same with all SD card apps.
I'm not sure when this issue started but I don't think it's been happening for long.
I haven't had a phone software or security update for ages. Are we going to get any more?
Anyway, what are the latest thoughts on getting this fixed? Everything else on my phone seems to be OK .
Thanks.
I'm interested in the outcome of this too. My phone still does this.
