headphone jack problem

my phone is xperia x compact and for some reasons I couldn't find xperia x compact on the associated products menu.

I've been using this phone for more than 2 years and kept it updated all the time. Yesterday I plugged my headphone to listen music, but music was coming from the speakers so I said ''my headphone is dead I guess'' and moved on. Fast forward, I tried 3 different headphones and one headset on my device. None of them worked, so I tried them on other devices and they seem to work fine on other devices. After googling for a while, I came across an app called ''lesser audio switch''. unless I plug my headset, open the app, choose ''headphone'' option, sounds keep coming from the speakers.

I didn't update my phone recently, I didn't download any suspicious app, I tried to use the headset on safemode and got the same result. Any idea about how to fix it? It's probably a software issue but I don't know what causing it.

btw sorry for my English, it's not my native language

after messing with the app that I mentioned above (switching rapidly between speaker and headphone during the day), I decided to remove the app and repair the phone via the xperia companion. BUT before starting the repair process (after uninstalling that app) I put on my headset and hit spotfy, hoping for a miracle and it happened. That app somehow managed to fixed my problem. anyone who's having the same problem and reading this. Download  that app, open music and keep switching between speaker and headphone whole day, then remove the app. I really hope that this works for anyone who might have this problem in the future.
