SIM CARD NOT RECOGNIZED

Hello.
I just bought an sony xperia m2 from a guy.
Whenever i insert my sim card it recognizes it for a few minutes until maybe an hour and then it says that there is no sim card inserted.
The xperia m2 is TELECOM BRANDED, does this have anything to do with my problem?

i found out that i can unlock my sim carrier.
It says i have to type some codes.
I dont need to flash anything or do anything similar.
All i need is to type some codes.
I wil try that.

Can you answer me something?
If i just flash a generic unbranded rom will it damage my phone?
Everyone said that just flashing a rom wont hurm it but i am not sure.

Rooting your phone or unlocking your bootloader always has the potential to cause damage to your handset which is why I am unable to officially support it.

The network that the phone is locked to may have access to the code to unlock it from their network. You will have to contact them and see what they say. Often there is a charge for unlocking a handset from a network, but it is up to them.

I do not want to root or unlock the bootloader.

It says that i can just flash without unlocking or rooting.

But anyway thank you very much for your help.

I will try to contact the carrier brand.

You could flash the phone with either flashtool or Xperifirm, but if the phone its locked to a carrier, it won't make a difference, you still need the code to unlock it

hello.

i downgraded to kitkat and upgraded again OTA to lollipop.

i still have the same problem.

i put my sim card in and it says nothing.

no signal nothin.

But if i take my sim card off while the phone is still on it says sim card removed restarting the device.

Do you know how can i unlock the carrier thing?

i took it to the service center and they told me that it has a problem.

Water went in the phone and thats why it wont show any services although it recognizes the sim.

It need to be fixed .
