Xperia SP WIFI range ISSUE

Hi, i have just bought Sp 2 days back

I am facing wifi range problem the device does not catch the range where my other phone catches the range at good wifi signal strength.

the distance is like 3 to 5 meters less then my black berry

Is there any settings that i need to see for the wifi range.

Well, my phone isn't rooted, cause I don't want to lose my guarantee.

I hope, that Sony will give us a solution for that problem soon.

as long as you keep bootloader locked you wont lose your guarantee.

I have the same problem, I purchase my Xperia SP a one week ago and the range of wifi its very little.

I test with other smartphones, tablets and notebook, and the range of wifi of my Xperia SP its very very little.

It's because of the root only fix that I am hopefull that an software update will solve the issue. I am 75% confident that an update will come in the next 2 moths and 50% confident that it will solve the issue.

But that's just me and i could be wrong.

It looks like SP will update to 4.3 in a few months so lets hope the camera,wifi and other bugs wil be solved.

Just upgraded my phone to JB 4.1.2 build 12.0.A.2.245. Performance has improved but WiFi is still unstable with very minimal improvement in reception (previous reception was non-existent even with minor obstructions from the router). I'm hoping JB 4.3 will finally fix the problem for good. Despite my disappointment with the WiFi reception, Sony has kept my hope alive so far as I was seriously thinking about returning this phone to Sony store by the end of the month. I really wish Sony's next software update will finally nail the problem.

Tengo el SP desde hace unas semanas y me pasa lo mismo que a todos vosotros, el wifi  tiene un alcance de apenas dos metros. El pasado fin de seman he estado de vacaciones en un hotel y mientras el "humilde" Samsung Galaxy mini de mi mujer se conectaba al wifi del hotel sin problemas y corría como una bala, el SP no lograba apenas conectarse unos segundos para desconectarse luego sin poder abrir una sola página web. ¡¡¡QUE VERGUENZA!!!! COMO ES POSIBLE QUE UNA EMPRESA COMO SONY LEA LAS ENTRADAS A ESTE FORO SIN HACER NADA!!!!!!!!!!!! Yo os animo a que nos metamos todos en todos los foros posibles HTCmania, El android libre, Xataka y contemos a todo el mundo que NO SE LES OCURRA COMPRAR NINGUN TELEFONO SONY y hagamos lo mismo con la gente de nuestro entorno.

same problem, wifi issue. just 1-2 bar beside router.

using channel 1, 2.4Ghz but stil the same.

if go more than 3 meter lost connection.

Same problem on a brand new SP (5303) ... disconnection or simply cannot connect (as right now!!! )

Sony support any help????!!! Comon guys!!!!!

After a slight improvement for a few days. Reception has been either authentication problem or not within range. Sony's latest update made things worse for Wifi to think that cellphones costing less than half are capable of better and more stable connection. I really hope Sony will pay attention to this. I'm beginning to suspect that this is a hardware problem since the last 2 software updates have failed to address the wifi glitch.
