3 questions about encryption on the Z5

Hi, I have three questions for you fellow Xperia users.

If I decide to encrypt my phone (Z5):

1) What will be the performance hit? Will it be noticeable?

2) I know it's not compatible with Smart Lock but will it also make it impossible to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner, knowing this feature uses a proprietary API in its current "Lollipop" form? (Good thing Marshmallow natively supports it)

3) Will it still be possible to use and update my phone with Flashtool?

Thank you

Hey, I upgraded my Z5P yesterday to 6.0 using flashtool, so I can help

1) Not for me / I don't have any comparison

2) Totally compatible. Fingerprint worked with LL as well as with MM. Fingerprint req. a pin or password then, no pattern

3) totally yes. BUT: I have my sdcard encr. as well and it didn't get wiped but somehow the cryptokey got erased (something like that), so I had to restore a backup I made a day before. The Files are still there, they just can't be opened. Internal Memory works like before, no data loss.

cheers.
