Multi Camera with DSC-HX400V?

Hi, does anyone tried out the multi camera feature with the Sony HX400V or is that not possible to share the view of both devices?

So I was in the Sony Chat, and she told me, it's not possible the way I thought.

The multi camera feature is only available if one Sony Z3 can take over control over at least (!!!) two other devices such as Xperia Smartphones or NFC/Wifi Cameras. And than the Sony Z3 controls the clip and the settings of the two other devices.

So, my fault guys. I thought as I saw the promo clip on youtube two diferent people can take a clip on their devices f.e. in an concert and see the angle of the other one and record both angles on file....https://youtu.be/Kx99flWxL4k So that is not the feature works.... So, I'm sorry to make this missunderstanding. Slightly_frowning_Face

I think two people can record from different angles but first you have to make sure that you started the multi camera app and touched the devices. After that,I think there can be some distance between the devices.

Hmm weird, in the chat she said it is only available with at least 3 devices so that one can control the other two. Two devices can only be shared the way that one is the remote control, wrong? But in the clip it looks definitely the way, that two devices can be paired and share their proper angle to the other phone. But indeed how that would be recorded into one file without mastering which angle is shown in the file. My first thought was, of course you got a clip with a split screen if only two devices are shared, but Sony says "no, that is not the way it works". hmmm, confused. Slightly_frowning_Face

I used Z3 tablet compact and QX10 wifi camera from Sony and it did split the view in 2. I will check more this weekend when I get home.

Thx, would be very interested what the video file looks like if it possible to share the view on "only" two devices....

So I tried it now with another sony device, a PJ330, and it works! So far the statement from the support it's only possible with at least three devices is wrong.... But how to connect with the Sony DSC-H400V? :((((

I have told you it must work. I say wait for the other guy who posted here and maybe he'll help.

Yes and after some new tries it works with the camera as well. The trick is, that you have to switch off the camera trying to establish an WiFi connection itself. For this I pressed several times the AF-Button to force just the image mode. But if two of the both are connected I can't connect a 3rd. So either Camera or Camcorder, both do not work, hmmm...unnamed.png

when it is off it is in the remote mode. try to connect in the multi cam, if the qx10 try to establish wifi interrupt it by push the button to force the autofocus and keep trying touching the nfc in different angles.
