Phone won't charge when turned on.

Hi, I've been having an issue with my Xperia Z5 where if the phone is turned on it won't charge or recognize that there is even a cable plugged in. I know the charger works because when I am able to force the phone to stay off it will charge, albeit kind of slowly. The phone seems to recognize that something got plugged in because it makes the notification noise and the red indicator light comes on for a few seconds, but turns off after and it does not charge at all. This is the case for both my computer and a wall outlet and I can't get my computer to find the device either when I plug it in.

I don't know if it helps but when I do manage to get it to stay off it is by holding down the power and volume buttons as it is turning on until a blue light comes on instead of the red one.

have you tried to use another usb cable? does the port seem to be loose when connecting the charger?

I've tried two other cables actually, and it doesn't seem loose at all. Like I mentioned earlier, I can get it to charge when I force it to stay off, its only once the phone trys to boot up that it suddenly stops charging.

I'm curious if you have the Android 7 update?

I also had the same issue but that resolved itself, the phone charges via wall charger and/or PC but it no longer gets recognised by windows 10.
