Problem: Notification Sounds and Ringtones

Hi everyone. I have opened a topic about the sound distortion in the beginning of any sound on device. Alexdon[http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/7878] helped me very much. But i have noticed something different.

I did a factory reset and a clean install the latest update. Whenever I receive a message, call, whatsapp message etc. (or something that causes a notification sound or call sound), the sound freezes a bit or some cracking or lag happens just before starting to play. I tested it both with normal boot and safe boot. Is this a hardware or software problem? I need some Sony Stuff to help here. I have read all Xperia Z1 forums and some people have this problem. And it is on my Xperia Z1 Compact. This is a suberb phone and I need some help. Can I really need to go to Sony Service? or Warranty?

And is there anyone who has this problem?

I'm running my new Z1c on 4.4.2, Build 14.3.A.0.757 with the notifications issue still around.

Maybe I misread it somewhere, but wasn't that issue supposed to be fixed weeks ago - or was that a different one? Calls being missed because of missing notifications/sounds and so on.

I am lucky to have read this topic before I update to .757 (I now run .114 that I got out of the box). With .114 all sound are OK.

My sympathies to you, guys. I will wait for the fix of sound issues, too.

It's a shame new users get the phone with .757 and bad sound...

All well and good saying it will be fixed in the next update, just exactly when will this update be available, NO other mobile company drags its heals like this to fix a known issue, I'm sure i'll not be the only one who says this, but I'll not be buying another Sony phone ever again..

You can't charge £400 for a device and expect CUSTOMERS to be anything other than ****** off with the length of time it takes you (Sony) to roll out Manufacturing SOFTWARE ERROR fix, you either need new developers or better beta testers as both seem really poor.

Hi I got my Z1 compact 2days ago and I got an update to 4.4.2 before I realy started using it. I have the same problem with sound! at first I though It is just me but after reading all of these posts I am a bit worried. I waited months to be able to buy this mobile! NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!! Please Sony fix it!

My Z1 compact, which was manufactured at 14' w15, came with .757 firmware from factory. This phone has the stuttering notification sounds and other bugs which are annoying me so much.

Sony, please release an update to solve this problems. I am thinking about going back to samsung if this problems are not solved in the next 2 weeks (I will return the Z1C and buy an Samsung Galaxy S5...).

Same with my z1 compact. As soon as the last update came out the volume of ringtones and notifications is quiet, more often than not.
I run my own business and missing phone calls is not an option!
When is going to be fixed or will I invoice Sony for my time and returned calls?
Can I revert to a previous software version?

I hope someone can respond to my request ASAP regarding the crackling sound issues after the .757 KitKat update. LISTEN UP moderators! This is getting beyond a joke, nobody seems to know if this issue has been identified by Sony. I buy Sony products for their quality and style, but on the subject of customer service/ identifying and fixing problems seems to be on the bottom of the list. I have paid my hard earned money and this isnt fair.

Please acknowledge this issue and assure all the people in this forum that it will be fixed in a new update (whenever that may be, but thats another issue all together) This is VERY frustrating, I didnt realise that Sony had this attitude with their customers, but believe me I wont let Sony forget dissapointment on this matter.....

Actually Sony officialy responded and confirmed the issue will be fixed in the next SW update (see page 10 of this thread).

Holy crap how can sonyt still not have done anything? I mean, even my friends get annoyed of the goddamn glitchy notification sound!!! The "quality" image sony has is really droppping fast within those who see where that annoying sound is coming from..... FIX THAT IT CANT BE SO **bleep** HARD!!! Pathetic handling of the situation. I've already made my local store give me a completely new z1c cuz the first one had the same bug, and it went to an endless service trip. And wishing for better camera performance, i installed kitkat and now this has it too. HEY GUYS I encourage everyone to go mad on their local dealers, they will give u new ones as they gave to me
