Problem: Notification Sounds and Ringtones

Hi everyone. I have opened a topic about the sound distortion in the beginning of any sound on device. Alexdon[http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/7878] helped me very much. But i have noticed something different.

I did a factory reset and a clean install the latest update. Whenever I receive a message, call, whatsapp message etc. (or something that causes a notification sound or call sound), the sound freezes a bit or some cracking or lag happens just before starting to play. I tested it both with normal boot and safe boot. Is this a hardware or software problem? I need some Sony Stuff to help here. I have read all Xperia Z1 forums and some people have this problem. And it is on my Xperia Z1 Compact. This is a suberb phone and I need some help. Can I really need to go to Sony Service? or Warranty?

And is there anyone who has this problem?

Acknowledged. I have a similar problem - crackling/stuttering notification sound. It's disgusting. Sound like something scratches my ears!

Hi guys,

My Z1 Compact has an issue where the notification sounds slightly cut out/malfunction/glitch, it happens when it's the first notification sound after none have gone off for a little while. It also happens when selecting different notification sounds, if I select one, then wait about 5/10 seconds, then tap on the same or a different sound it has the same issue.

Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas?

Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hi there, yes, latest update is installed.
No third party notification apps, but a few messaging apps, WhatsApp, Viber, & Kakao Talk.

Após a atualização 14.3.A.0.757 em meu Z1 compact, o áudio está com ruídos quando recebo SMS ou chamadas.

Isto não acontecia com a versão Jelly Bean.

Sony, favor corrigir este bug

After upgrading 14.3.A.0.757 on my Z1 compact, the audio is noisy when receiving calls or SMS.
This was not happening with the Jelly Bean version.
Sony, please fix this bug

Yes, I searched and found. But the solution of the problem depends on the Sony release new update. If new users have reporting problems, Sony will think there is no problem in kit kat.

Hi folks,

I've got the same problem her with notification sound and even with the ringtone sometimes.  I have the latest kitkat 4.4.2 update on my Z1 Compact.

It is REALLY frustrating. I switched from HTC to SONY a week ago. Was it a mistake? 😞
