Setting Notification Sound Volume Separately From Ring Volume?

I'd like to be able to have a different volume for incoming texts than for calls but I cannot seem to be able to set notification volume independently from ring volume.  Is it possible, and if so how?

This has been asked before, it can't be done, perhaps a third party app could do so.
