Stamina and Auto-Rotate Issues

Hi All,

I've had my Xperia Z3 for a few months now. A few days ago I started to notice a few issues, I'll try to explain them as best I can:

1. I unlocked my phone, and started to use it, within 3 seconds the screen went black. I thought it was a small hitch, tried it again and the same thing happened. It was like the phone was auto locking, even when I was using it. I took it to my phone operator, they did a factory reset and it seemed to solve the problem. I went home, put Stamina mode on and the same thing happened again. My phone is fine when not in Stamina mode, but as soon as I turn it on I can only use the phone for 3 seconds before it goes blank.

2. I can't use the auto-rotate on my phone. I use the desk clock at night, but it doesn't rotate when I turn the phone. When I use apps that auto-rotate, such a YouTube, the screen does turn but then I can't get it back to 'normal' unless I go back to the home page.

Just a few annoying things that are happening, but I use both features regularly and have already seen a difference in my battery life now I can't use Stamina mode. I've tried doing a factory reset again, and I've tried using the phone in SafeMode but both problems persist.

Help please?!

Thank you, Rebecca

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Note: This is not the same as a factory reset and this will also erase all data on your phone

I heard  so much about  this  PC  companion  repair.    Will it  also  erase  all  the APPS  I  installed  ??  It   seems  the manual  said NOTHING  about  this  kind  of repair.  SONY  should  give  a  full and  detailed  description about  this  method  to  restor  the  phone

Another query, a small area of my touch screen has stopped working (around the S on my keyboard)... Will this system repair help this too?! I don't really want to keep doing the repair, but I'm just having one problem after another!!
