z1 hotspot function not working after lollipop 5.0.2 upgrade

Hi,
Yesterday I accepted the upgrade to Lollipop 5.0.2 pushed to my Xperia Z1 through the Sony PC Companion software. The upgrade process seemed to go smoothly enough, but tonight when I went to use the Hotspot feature (as I always have before) to give my laptop Internet access, the Z1 displayed a " Tethering Error. It seems to tell me the laptop is connected, but it really isn't, as I have no Internet navigability. This is in fact the only way I receive internet at home, so a quick resolution to this issue would be much appreciated
