I'm planning on controlling a ZV-1 via Imaging Edge Remote on Mac. It will be sent out so talent can film themselves at home. The idea is they connect an ethernet cable and we do all the camera operation remotely using TeamViewer and Imaging Edge. We've previously been doing this with A7 and it's worked great.
I notice it has a soft power button unlike the A7's hard switch. Thing is, the camera will be permanently fixed inside a flight case and enclosed behind Teleprompter glass. So inexpressible to hit the power button, especially for talent to do themselves.
Couple of questions:
- Does the camera auto switch on when connected to USB?
- If not, can Imaging Edge trigger the camera to power on?
- Does the USB being used for remote control provide enough power to run the camera without battery?
Thank you!
Brice
The instructions for connecting the camera on the dedicated page indicate the camera needs to be ON: https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/imagingedge/en/instruction/4_1_connection.php
