External Monitor app: Not working

One of the main reasons for me getting the Sony Xperia 1 vi was to use it as a external monitor with my Sony A7 iii. However I can't seem to get it working at all. The app doesn't give much info on how to set it up. 

I was able to connect to a third party app called Monitor+ but it's very laggy and limited. 

Anyone else have this issue or know a work around?

Make sure your software is updated as well as the app from the store.

If that didn't help you, check with the app provider using their website if this model is compatible for their app!
