Hi sony have just replaced my old KD-55XF9005 under warranty with a brand new K55XR70 i have had it a week now and everyday several times the screen freezes but with the sound from my sky box still audible, sometimes it turns off and then reboots but sometimes stays frozen until i unplug it, does anybody know of a reason for this before i contact sony direct?
Factory Reset it.
If the problems continue, then Sony have supplied you with a set that is DOA, or as near as makes no difference, and need to bring you another one.
It’s a mystery to me though how such a tiny, passive, component like the maker’s name can cause so much trouble. It’s just a little piece of plastic, and yet if you can get a TV where the maker’s name is a different piece of plastic, most of the problems seem to melt away.
How do they do that?

-Try to perform a Soft Reset of the TV by holding the power button on the remote for 5 seconds, and then confirm you want to reset the device in the on-screen display.
-Perform a Power Cycle of the TV by removing the AC power cord from the outlet and reconnecting it after 30 seconds.

Also, try to disable the following settings:
