SD and Phone Memory Access Issue after Marshmallow Update (Xperia C5 Ultra Dual)

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual to Android 6.0 and since then I can see the SD card and the phone memory if i connect to the PC via Xperia Companion but once I try to open any folder to view the contents I cannot access anything.Sometimes it will show the folders with their names other times the folders show as 'Local Disc' on my PC screen.

Even worse is i can't copy or paste anything from my phone (including the SD) to my PC at all(or the reverse).I have a 32GB SD card.

Someone please help me,it will be hugely appreciated.

xCU plug your phone via USB, then go in settings and tap the magnifying glass, type USB and then tap on USB mode, there you can select multiple ways to use USB. MTP is for Xperia XC, you will have to select, if I recall correctly, storage mode. The you will be able to see content of the SD card when plugged to your computer via USB.

My problem is different, SD card always removed randomly. The error message is SanDisk SD card unexpectedly r.. in notification tray. Please help, this happens after i upgraded to marsmallow ONLY.

Mine still doesn't work properly. @daveld1 you could try format it and see whether anything improves after that.

I have even considered going back to 5.1 now.

Phone C5 Ultra lags a lot with Marshmallow. Uses a lots of memory, camera quality has diminished badly, not getting quality pics like earlier like with 5.1. I bought this phone for its known camera quality, but the Marshmallow update has broken my heart. I don't know how to get 5.1 back in C5 Ultra, please if anyone can help me.

My phone doesnt lag at all. It works perfectly fine. But the camera quality was lot better in 5.1. I think Sony service center may downgrade the phone to 5.1.

Mine doesn't lag and the battery life is much better but that memory access issue won't go away,i formatted it,factory reset the phone, nothing changes.

Maybe Sony need to bring an update to solve these seemingly random bugs.

The options pop up once i plug the phone in and i select MTP but nothing changes.

Mine have the very same issue after upgrading to Android 6.0 marshmallow this morning. My SD card has become useless, most of my apps were installed on it.
