Hi everyone,
I recently updated my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual to Android 6.0 and since then I can see the SD card and the phone memory if i connect to the PC via Xperia Companion but once I try to open any folder to view the contents I cannot access anything.Sometimes it will show the folders with their names other times the folders show as 'Local Disc' on my PC screen.
Even worse is i can't copy or paste anything from my phone (including the SD) to my PC at all(or the reverse).I have a 32GB SD card.
Someone please help me,it will be hugely appreciated.
Very disappointed to tell that I have this issue since last year updating the software to Android 6, is there any new solution for this issue?
We just need to get used to it I guess.
Im planning on replacing my sony phone. Considering other brand bit sad about the update affecting my phone. Sd card is useless. I cant even listen to my music anymore. All of my gadgets are sony. My phone is also used for work so after updating the software, all my daily work routines were affected
Sony is not doing anything about this
Android marketing, or just a mistake? My phone is to old? Cause now is avalable android 7? My phone still have warranty. **bleep**. I cant use phone with 16gb storage. Im video content creator, designer and seo specialist. And now I just cant use my phone for work. What about phones with 8gb storage or less? Smarthone just fore call and massages.
It's been almost a year now.
Has nobody from Sony seen this or is it being deliberately ignored.
I'm still using the phone,
Recently only I received the update to Android 6 for my Xperia C5 Ultra Dual and since then I have been having the issues with SD Card and phone memory. I have searched a lot of forums and like many of you i haved formatted my SD card, got a new SD card and still the problem remained the same.
And just the other day I came across a youtube video for the same issue and a fix to this issue. But the device shown in the video is different. But trust me guys the fix in the video worked for me. I hope it might help others too.
I do not take any credits for the video. I'm only sharing some info that I came across. Hope it is helpful.
this happens with me either (same phone)

Or maybe don't know solution, why ignoring? I can see only your "cries" here, where is yours contribution? If you will not post so often rancorous posts, maybe someone will help you much more as now. A lot of sadness, sorrows, disappointment in yours posts, Cheer up, it must be reason why you can't see SD card in yours PC connected with Xperia Companion. But keep in mind it can be reason in yours computer, where is must be latest and right drivers (USB), Xperia Companion latest version and ect.
Did you have latest Windows Media Player?
Did you tried reinstall Xperia Companion?
Did you tried reinstall or update drivers in yours PC?
Did you tried with others Xperia device to connect with Xperia Companion?
Are you sure that yours USB cable is fine?
Did you tried to connect on others PC?
Did you tried with others memory card to connect yours smartphone and PC?
Did you tried to format SD card and then connect to PC?
For me everything working fine, so or you don't have drives, Windows Media player (in past for good performance of Xperia Companion was needed latest Windows Media Player, how is now i don't know, but will not be if you will update it)..
P.S. Don't say that somebody ignoring you if you did not tried any of these setps or somehow yourself to fix these problem
KEEP IN MIND: The world don't stop exist with this problem, try to cooperate much more as now and let us to help you... you must try much more as to post here sorrow messages, i understand yours problem and disappointment, but this is not over and without dissemination of sorrow let's try to find reason why this happen with you, ok? Smile and world will smile for you
Thanks for the "challenge" I tried those long ago and none worked.
Any more ideas? Why would someone come to ask for help if they had solutions by the way?
