Hello
I recently purchased a DSC-WX100 but I cannot complete a successful installation of the Playmemories home software.
On plugging the camera into a USB port, the pre installed version of playmemories tries to install. This actually nearly works, but when starting up the program, it tells me the DSC-WX100 is recognised but additional features need to be installed. (The featurs listed are the ones which I need mode such as video playback!). When I click on OK, a dialogue box appears stating "Unknown error has occured".
I then upgraded to the latest version using a link provided by Sony Support email centre. (http://sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DSC-WX100/downloads/pmhome). However, when near the end of the installation process, it again tells me an error has occured, and to try to unintsall and reinstall after restarting my computer. When I plug my camera into my USB - now the message just says Camera not found, please ensure the camera is connected. This is despite the fact that windows has already recognised the device and it can be seen within Windows Explorer.
Can anybody please help me - I have trawled the web with no success and Sony Support centre just seem to tell my to try on another PC - which of course, is not ideal seeing as this is my only PC.
I am running Windows Vista SP2 and have ensured all other system requirements are being met.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Hello niallb81 - Welcome to the Sony Forums
In the past, I have heard of installation/activation issues with 64 bit versions of Windows - is this something that you have installed on your system? On the other hand, is it a 32 bit setup?
Thanks,
Simon
