Sony DSC-H2 trouble

My Sony DSC-H2 camera started doing some strange things that I can't seem to correct.  1) after each photo i take "recording" flashes on the view finder. 2) the flash will not come on.  Any suggestions

As far as I am aware, the 'recording' message may just be telling you that the camera is in the processing of writing the image data to the memory card (for larger file sizes i.e. higher photo quality, this may take longer). This may also be something that you see when using the camera to record a movie clip.

For the flash, has the actual flash mechanism stopped popping up or does it pop up but not fire?
