Application with name: ''manage settings'' trying to install itself on Sony Experia E1

Hi i have some strange problem on my Sony Experia E1 phone.

I have done 'factory reset' , and now some app with name: ''Manage Settings'' trying to install itself on my Sony Experia E1.

This happen when i turn ''off'' an ''on'' screen. I receive message to install this app, which is from ''unknown source''.

I always refuse this, but app insist to be installed again and again..

In security menu i was disable ''unknown sources''.

What should i do? Slightly_frowning_Face

Or is this app some system app or something?

I have kit kat 4.4

All programs i was downloaded is from ''play store''.

I can't find that this program is related to any app i already have on phone.

This indicates that it's an app that you have installed that is causing this. What safe mode does is that it starts the phone without loading any 3:rd party apps.

After you performed the master reset, did you install any app before seeing this?

Do you see this as a notification in the notification bar? If so, slide it down, tap and hold the notification and select App info to see which app this is coming from.

No, when i try this, i only see viber app.
But viber is always there.
When this happen to me, i receive usual popup window, which ask me what program to use to open this app., and app. name itself as "manage settings" app. I even alow this app to install itself once, and then i find it, and deinstall. But app again come back, ,no mater what i do. I scan for viruses with avast, malwarebites, eset, avira.. nothing fond..

Does this happen if you start the phone in safe mode?

I will try this tomorow, but i need all day , because this not happen always.

I don't know when app will decide to offer install, but this happen when i lock and unlock screen..

I decide to install this app, and see what it does.

This app instal itself as ''manage settings''.

App offer itself as system Administrator, and what it does is to: ''monitor unlock  screen attempts''.

If i decide to activate app as administrator  nothing happen, all is normal.

But if i say no, app again popup and ask for administrator privileg.. Pretty annoying..

Permissions for this app:

-reading and erasing the identity of devices

-modify delete SD card contents

-Find the accounts

-receive data from Internet

-full network access

-retrieve running applications

-display system-level alerts

-control the vibration

-Prevent phone to sleep

-install shortcuts

App does not have icon on home screen, icon appears in all apps..

I think, that before i reset phone to factory settings, i also have this app.

I remember that i see this icon before in all apps.. But I did not pay attention to it..

And when i do factory reset, phone delete all apps i installed, but then install app from my mobile provider also.

Is it possible, that this is some app from my provider?

i also found process used for this app, this is: com.appgp.main

What does this mean?

I don't have this app in my E1. Have you had any chance to test safe mode yet?

That looks like the package name for the app. You can see the package name for apps using an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gijoon.pkgnameviewer (and this apps package name is "com.gijoon.pkgnameviewer").

There's an app in Google Play with that package name: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgp.main but it doesn't look like that app. Have you installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appgp.main in your phone?

Ok. I was start phone in safe mode today , and i will inform you what happens.

I was deinstall 'manage settings' app again.

Then download: pkgnameviewer.

Search all , but i can't find nothing like: ''com.appgp.main''

I never was install this silly app. -''Vietname News''

Don't know what is this at all?
