Remote stopped working RMT D251P

My remote has stopped operating the HDD recorder RDR HXD790.

It still operates the TV but none of the buttons operate the hd recorder. I unplugged the recorder and took the batteries out of the remote overnight hopping it would reset but it hasn't.

Any advice what to do?

Be aware that the internal HDD is formatted in a Unix like standard. As far as I know you should be able to open it connecting it (internally or via an USB enclosure as suggested) to a Linux PC not a Windows one.

I'm not really sure what kind of file you will find in it and if they can be read via a common player.

I have just had the same problem with my remote and tried, Enter (+) 1 2 or 3 at first nothing and the success with Enter (+) 3.

Still got it? My remote works with some buttons but not others, so I think my problem is the remote itself. Would you like to sell yours?
