How do i use my mobile data for internet ?

My Xperia L3 is 1day old and I cannot use mobile data to access the internet. Is there a way around this? I do not have wifi access at all times unless I use my other phone to hotspot

Do you have a data plan through your carrier network? 

If you do then 

settings > networks & internet > internet settings > that should download the APN settings
