All application but WhatsApp cannot access internet on xperia sp c5302

Hi all,

I really need your help here that all application but WhatsApp cannot access internet on my xperia sp today. I have tried to clear all cached data and restart the phone but still no luck. At first, I was suspecting that the problem relies on my 3G network problem. To make sure that's the case, I try to make my phone as a wifi hotspot and browse some website using a laptop(Linuxmint OS) connected to the phone. The result is I can browse and download websites without any problem. After that I did check any connection settings and run all application that need to access internet. Then I found WhatsApp is the only application that can still access internet or work normally. Now I don't have any idea to fix the problem but factory reset. I hope there is still a way to fix it other than reset my phone.

open the back of the phone and hold the off button until phone vibrates 3 times , then switch it on and try your apps again

did the phone vibrate 3 times ? if yes take out the sim card and power down for a min then re-insert the chip into the phone if all fails then im sorry youll have to factory reset just remember to back up before you perform a factory reset

@dm84, yes it did then I tried to factory reset but still not working. It was really frustating me. Then I did cross check again my APN and found that proxy setting should not be set. Strangely, I don't really know why the proxy value already there and why I can browse using laptop via wifi hotspot but can't directly on my xperia. After I removed the proxy value, everything works normally. Btw thank you for your kind help.

can you pls help me - I have the same problem.. Mobile Internet worked all fine until I did reset settings due to another issue - since then, I can only use the browser, no application can access the internet. I did a full factory reset afterwards with no success. I downloaded all the internet settings from the mobile network, but it didn't help. Weirdly I also cannot activate the mms service.. Phone: Sony Xperia Solar
