Hi Everyone, Setting up my TV received today and find that the TV is not recognising my HDD. Reformatted the drive to a single partition and the file system is NTFS with 465 GB of free space. All this done on a Windows 10 PC.and still not recognised. I am using a short connecting cable from the WD HDD to the correct USB input on the TV.
Any help will be appreciated,
Mike

I have the same problem. new hdd drive not recognised. i formatted it in windows 10 . it is 1tb.
it comes up on devices list on my tv. but in the recording set up I get "cannot detect" all the time.
i spent hours on this. i did everything in the list from this thread
"Problems using your external USB TV Hard Disk Drive (HDD)? Discover how to troubleshoot"
yes I did all of them and more. I re-booted the tv. checked for usb firmware update ( none).
unplugged and replugged every time, pushing in the plugs harder and harder.
I am exasperated - Sony please help
