I have had this model for a few years, it's still a great set, however over a period of time I have noticed menu options disappearing.
I used to be able to connect through an on screen menu , Amazon prime, that option seems to have gone, along with others, I am sure that I could access Youtube at one time too.
Does anyone know how I can get Amazon prime on the TV now?
Much as I appreciate a quick reply, that is not what I was looking for.
I'd like to know why the menu option (s) have gone. Is there another way ( via the set ) to access Amazon prime? When first purchased the set had a lot of useful functions with it. Now sadly gone.
I currently have a remote for the TV, a remote for the Sky box, a remote for the Surround sound, call me old fashioned but I remember when one remote was fine, or my finger, and no, I don't want to add a Fire or other thing, I have a fire stick already, still in its box, cos, another remote, another power lead moan moan moan.
Anyone know why Sony(?) removed the options from my set? Is that what they call built in obsolescence? It will do what you want for a bit, then Oh well it's old now blah blah,
I know I sound like a luddite but make do and mend is actually good for the planet. Have I got to live with less now then?
Rant over 🙂
Hi @rob_maureen_mp3 The reason why is very simple, the components/software in your TV are not powerful enough to run the latest Apps provided by Prime or Netflix. Basically Prime and Netflix have decided to not support your TV any more 😂
Thanks again, Built in obsolescence. Wonderful, 'spose I'll have to dig out the Fire thingy. Pah! More plugs and remotes.
I fail to see why it can't be a simple task to continue to support hardware that has the capability of conversing with the internet.
Reminds me of that film, "They Live" BUY MORE STUFF. 🙂
