Sony Bravia KDL-43WE753 USB Stick Problem
Hi,
I have had this TV for about 2 months now, and successfully managed to format a USB stick and record some programmes onto it from the TV. After recording I checked that the programmes were there but did not watch in full. I then removed the USB stick from the TV.
Now when I try to watch the recorded programmes I have one of two problems - either the USB stick is not recognised and says it needs formatting, or the TV does not recognise that the USB stick is inserted at all.
Any ideas on how to solve this so that I can watch the recorded programmes would be gratefully received.
Many thanks.

Hi Jenny, welcome to the Community
Have a look at this thread, which explains a little about ideal formatting and file types, and let us know if there's anything that helps.
Cheers

Many thanks for your reply to my query.
The suggested solution was “ the TV’s date and time must be set for media playback from USB to work”
Does this mean I need to set the date and time every time before I start to record something? Or before I start to watch the recording?
How do I set the date and time on the TV? I thought it did it automatically like a PC.
Sorry for so many questions – I’m a novice here. I’m not even sure what format the recordings are in. I just inserted the USB stick and asked the TV to record at a set time! As I have already mentioned, I checked the recording the next day and all seemed to be fine although I didn't try to actually watch anything until a few days ago.
So any pointers you can give me would be extremely useful.
Thanks once again,
Jenny

Hi jennyellis,
There are a couple of things that come to mind regarding this such as whether the TV 's firmware is up to date (you can check this using the below link:)

Also, have you tried a different USB stick with the TV? I know that Sony recommends using a dedicated external HDD for this in the first place, maybe this has something to do with it.
Hope this helps.
